Enjoy a beautiful and relaxing trip down the Trinity River! Perfect for more cautious first time kayakers, younger children who need a gentle introduction to whitewater, or those who just want to enjoy the river without any bigger rapids. Group rates do apply. The recommended minimum age for this section is 4+. 🐾 This Run is Pet Friendly.

- A delicous Organic Deli Style Lunch with an Appetizer of Chips w/ Homemade Salsa & Hummus & Fruit(Watermelon or Oranges); Followed by Build Your Own Wraps with Turkey, Salami, 2 Types of Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Pickled Red Onion, Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Lettuce, and followed by a dessert of Chocolate Chip Cookies or Fudgy Brownies.

What to bring:
The weather in Northern California is generally warm and sunny in the summer months, but can be unpredictable so please bring an extra layer of polypropylene or wool for warmth on spring days. All rafters should wear sandals that strap on your feet or tennis shoes with rubber bottoms, sorry but flip flops can not be worn on whitewater trips. Participants should wear clothes suitable for swimming, as well as bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.

Meet at the Big Flat River Access:
Coming from the East/Weaverville
Head west on Hwy 299 from Weaverville. Big Flat is about 30 minutes from Weaverville, or 1 hour and 30 minutes from Redding (more if construction). Upon entering the small town of Big Flat you will see the Straw House (a bright yellow cafe on the left side of the highway. Continue to Big Flat River Access, it is located just past “town” on the left side of the highway. You will see a large parking lot, pit toilet, and sign that says Big Flat River Access. There is no gas or cell service in Big Flat, so fill up and make your calls before you leave Weaverville. You’ll see our big white vans and red rafts!
Coming From the West/Arcata
Head east on Hwy 299 from Hwy 101. Big Flat is about a 1.5 hr drive from the coast Eureka/Arcata/Trinidad. You will pass by our shop in Willow Creek - keep going - you’ve got about 45 minutes to Big Flat from here. The town of Big Flat is just 3 miles after the town of Big Bar, CA. Just before entering the small town of Big Flat you will see Big Flat River Access, it is a large parking lot on the right side of the highway with a pit toilet and a sign that says Big Flat River Access. We’ll be there with our white vans and red rafts!

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of your trip's departure date in order to guarantee a refund (less credit card processing fees). A cancellation less than 72 hours of your trip date can result in a partial refund, depending on if we are able to rebook the seats that we held for you. If we are unable to rebook, we unfortunately cannot refund. If you fail to show up for your trip without contacting us in advance, you will be charged for the full amount. We understand that last minute things come up, and we are happy to reschedule a trip, however we will have to charge a 20% rescheduling fee if rescheduling less than 72 hrs before your trip. Please try to be on time for your trip, as for every hour you are late we will charge a $25 fee per guide scheduled with your group to compensate them for their time. Thank you for understanding.
