# Buckroe Beach Tandem Kayak Rental
We are located at Buckroe Beach and Park, 100 N First Street, Hampton, VA 23664.
Come to the blue sheds on the beach near the boardwalk, between the playground and the stage pavilion.

* Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled rental.
* Complete your waiver and present a valid government issued photo ID.
* Receive your kayak, paddles, life jackets, and whistles.
* Participate in a brief safety and on land instruction session.
* Launch directly from Buckroe Beach.
* Enjoy your paddle at your own pace.
* Return all equipment at the end of your rental.
## Check In Details
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled rental to complete check in and get on the water as quickly as possible.
All participants must complete a waiver before participating.
Please bring a driver's license or other government issued photo ID for verification.

## Storage for Valuables
We recommend leaving valuables such as phones, wallets, watches, and jewelry in your vehicle. If needed, we can securely store small personal items in our shed during your rental.
## Special Requirements
* Participants must be at least 12 years old.
* Participants must know how to swim.
* Participants under 18 years old must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign the waiver before the rental begins.
## Restrictions
* Kayaking is not recommended for pregnant individuals.
* Maximum combined rider weight is 500 pounds.
* Participants should be able to enter and exit the kayak independently or with minimal assistance.
## Cancellation Policy
A 6% cancellation fee applies to all customer requested cancellations after a reservation has been booked. This fee covers nonrefundable credit card processing and administrative costs.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your rental to receive a refund, less the 6% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the rental receive a credit valid through the current operating season.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the rental, late arrivals, and no shows are not eligible for a refund or credit.
If Green Wave Watersports cancels your rental due to unsafe weather or water conditions, you may reschedule or receive a full refund. No cancellation fee will be charged.
If your rental has not been picked up within 2 hours of your scheduled reservation time and you have not notified us, your reservation may be released without a refund.
## Weather and Safety
Green Wave Watersports reserves the right to delay, relocate, reschedule, or cancel rentals due to unsafe weather, wind, water conditions, storms, lightning, poor visibility, or any other safety concern.
## Disclaimers
Kayaking is an outdoor adventure activity with inherent risks, including changing weather and water conditions, equipment use, and possible encounters with wildlife. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all instructions provided by Green Wave Watersports staff.
All required safety equipment must be worn throughout your rental. Green Wave Watersports reserves the right to end a rental without refund if a participant behaves in an unsafe manner, appears impaired, or fails to follow staff instructions.
## Frequently Asked Questions
### Can I bring a child or pet in the tandem kayak?
Our tandem kayaks are designed for two people. Children may ride with an adult as long as both riders can safely use the kayak and the combined weight does not exceed 500 pounds. Pets are not allowed.
### Can we bring our own life jackets?
Yes. You may bring your own U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets. Each rider must also carry a marine whistle.
### What should we wear?
Wear swimsuits or quick drying athletic clothing. We also recommend sunscreen, towels, and a change of clothes.
### Can we bring a phone?
Yes, but only if it is protected in a reliable waterproof case. Otherwise, we recommend leaving it in your vehicle or storing it in our shed.
### What happens if we encounter wildlife?
Observe wildlife from a safe distance and never attempt to feed or approach animals.
### When does our rental time begin?
Your rental begins at your scheduled reservation time. Arriving early helps ensure you enjoy your full time on the water.
