Maui's best kayaking location is Makena#
- Makena bay is a paddlers dream .... great ocean conditions, excellent reef systems, exceptional scenery all around. With Molokini in the distance, and the island of Kahoolawe as a backdrop, and miles and miles of beautiful ocean surrounding it all. Popular with SCUBA divers, SUP (Stand Up Paddlers), OC1 and kayak fisherman, this area has something for everyone. Did we mention turtles - the Hawaiian green sea turtle? This area is host to a very large population of "Hono" (local term for turtle) and they are a magnificant creature. They are everywhere here!

**Makena Landing south Maui**
If in parking lot, with ocean on right, walk up over little hill and you will see the kayaks
**Please plan your drive to arrive on time (allowing 15 minutes extra for check in, sunscreen, etc.)**

Drive south on makena alanui past the Fairmont Kealani resort for about 1.9 miles. You will see a street sign "Honoiki" with a right turn towards ocean. Turn here and at the bottom of the hill look right- you will see where the kayaks launch from. Look / Ask for South Pacific Kayaks (see sign). All kayak guides are friendly and happy to help.
