##Important Information
**WHEN & WHERE TO ARRIVE:** Please arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 to park, unload, and check in. Please remember that parking a few minutes walk away may be necessary, so plan for enough time to get back down to the beach. If you are renting a boat, or would like to change your racing class please arrive on the earlier side.
Check in will be at the East End Beach lowest parking lot, near the bathhouse and Portland Paddle shipping containers. You will see our signs at the end of Cutter Street by the East End Beach. Use the map above to find us or view the directions on our website.
Race start location is on the main beach at East End Beach past the bath house. There will be a brief race meeting at 5:50. Boats should be on the water for a 6:00 start time.
**PARKING:** There is free all-day parking in the lot halfway up the hill on Cutter Street, as well as on most streets in the residential neighborhoods nearby. Most of the spaces right next to the beach are limited to 5 minutes or two hours. There is space to unload boats next to the bathhouse, but please move away from there quickly so that others may use it as well. Final gear organizing can be done after vehicles have been parked. Please arrive with plenty of time to park and walk back down to the beach before the race starts.
**WHAT TO BRING**
- PFD and any other necessary safety gear
- Boat, paddle, and other necessary paddling gear
- Communication device (e.g. phone or vhf) and noise signaling device (e.g. whistle)
- Clothes and footwear for paddling
- Sun Protection
- Hydration
Optional:
- Wetsuit/Drysuit
- A light source such as a headlamp or flashlight
- Navigation equipment such as chart and compass
**BATHROOMS:** The public bathrooms and changing rooms by the East End Beach close at 5pm, but we have a portable toilet directly beside our office that is reserved for our customers to use in the evenings.
**RENTALS**
Rentals are available on a first come, first served basis and are selected from our standard rental fleet. It is best if you let us know prior to checking in if you intend to rent so that we can have boats/boards prepped for you.
