About
If paddleboarding isn't your thing and you feel more comfortable on a kayak, we have got you covered! Kayaks can fare a little better in windier conditions and you can paddle a bit further in a kayak than a SUP, so come and explore with us on the water!
Hire a single sit on top sea kayak and cruise the Haven at your leisure. Suitable for kids from approx 8yrs old, right up to full-grown adult kids, our kayaks are stable and fun!
Following a briefing on the conditions and any tips you need for your kayaking, you are free to enjoy the bay lapping up the sun or you can paddle out to Fifeshire Rock or Haulashore Island and enjoy the best that Tahunanui has to offer, from the water.
Top Tip: For the summer months, the wind tends to pick up throughout the day, so come earlier in the day for best conditions! If the wind is too strong to be safe on the ocean, we will contact you in advance to move your booking.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to kit up, sign in and be briefed.
We ask that you are comfortable in the water before hiring from us, and all equipment that you need for a great time is provided.

Booking Notes
##Thank you for booking with us!
We are stoked to have you join us on the water, you are going to love it!
You will also receive an online pre-arrival waiver from our friends at Wherewolf which everyone in your booking needs to fill in. Please complete this before you arrive, so we can get you on the water quickly.
Please arrive 10 mins prior to your booking, changed, sun-blocked and ready to go.
##What to wear & bring
Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet!
In the summer: rash vests, swimming togs, quick dry clothes, and a sun hat are all perfect. Bring a towel, a dry change of clothes, water and sunblock. Barefoot for your sessions is great, but feel free to wear water shoes if you prefer too.
Please leave any spare gear away in the car or on the beach. We have a secure spot for keys and valuables but please note, this is left at your own risk, and we won't be able to keep an eye on all your gear while you are on the water.

##Where to go
Our home is at Tahunanui beach, next to the Abel Tasman statue car park on Bisley Walk. This is at the end of the beach closest to Rocks Road. Parking is free, and there are public toilets, water fountains, and showers just behind our base. Look for our red flags here by the public board washing station and you can't miss us! If we are looking closed, head up to Moana SUP & Surf Shop on Rocks Road, just over the main road.

Cancellation Policy
Your safety is our priority so if the weather or conditions are not appropriate for your booking to be conducted safely, we will need to cancel your booking.
If we need to cancel, we will attempt to contact you via text and/or email the day before, or on the day of your booking. So if the weather is looking marginal, please make sure you check your phone and email on the day of your booking.
We will offer you a new date/time to move your booking to, or if that isn't possible, we will issue a credit voucher to be used at a future date, or process a full refund.
We also post daily beach reports on the paddling conditions throughout the summer on our [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/paddlenelson/) too.
If you need to cancel your booking, we ask for 24hours notice by email or phone call. Any no shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are fully chargeable.
