Jasper is home to many beautiful lakes. Each with its own landscape, wildlife and even water colour. Accessible by a short walk through lively forests. We have rowboats ready for you and your friends or family to enjoy.
All you need to bring is your fishing gear and your Parks Canada Fishing Permit, which you can purchase at Jasper Source for Sports or the Astoria Hotel.
Life Jackets and other necessary items are provided with the rental. All necessary items including whistles, bailing buckets, life jackets,keys and even fishing permits can be found at the Astoria Hotel in downtown Jasper.

## Your Rowboat Rental — What You Need to Know
**Pick up your gear at:**
Astoria Hotel · 404 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB
We'll have your key, oars, PFD, rope, safety whistle, and transom plugs ready for you. If you've booked an electric motor, we'll demonstrate it at the Astoria before you head out. Allow 10–15 minutes for check-in.
**Getting to Talbot Lake:**
Talbot Lake is approximately 25 minutes east of Jasper on Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway). The lake is clearly marked from the highway.
**Important reminders:**
- No cell service at Talbot Lake — download offline maps before leaving Jasper
- Parks Canada fishing licence can be purchased at checkout or at the Astoria Hotel in Jasper
- A valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) is required if using the electric motor. No PCOC? No problem — we offer an equivalent Transport Canada safety orientation checklist at the Astoria Hotel during check-in (allow an extra 10–15 minutes).
- Your waiver must be completed prior to departure
**Return:** Lock the rowboat at the dock and bring all equipment back to the Astoria Hotel front desk.

Important Information
Transport Canada–approved PFDs (life jackets) are provided with every rental. We strongly recommend wearing your PFD at all times on the water.
