Description

This trip combines two of our most popular trips, The Dolphin Eco Tour and The Guided Kayak Tour, in an over the top remote location. A favorite of locals and visitors alike, this four and half hour trip is sure to be a memorable experience for your group or family.

Your Outback adventure begins at Shelter Cove Marina, where you will meet your Captain, who is also an Interpretive Naturalist Guide and will be with you throughout the experience. You will then take a scenic boat excursion through the backcountry creeks and rivers near Hilton Head, stopping for dolphins and other wildlife along the way. Our destination is Outside Hilton Head’s private island, called Page Island. This remote location is only accessible by boat, and is most often compared to the set of a ‘Survivor’ show, the perfect outpost to begin this distinctive kayak tour. After briefly exploring the island, your guide will lead a paddling clinic to get everyone up to speed. Then your guide will launch you in your kayak from our state-of-the-art kayak launch dock. Both single and double kayaks are available, and all boats are safe and comfortable.

Turn off HWY 278 Business into Shelter Cove Harbor, directly across from Palmetto Dunes Resort, between mile markers 8 and 9. Traveling eastbound, turn RIGHT into Shelter Cove Harbor. If traveling westbound, Shelter Cove Harbor will be on your LEFT. Once you turn off the highway take an immediate left onto Shelter Cove Lane. Signs will direct you to the Ship Store and Ela's Grille. Shelter Cove Lane goes 1 mile and ends at a parking lot.  Please park in this lot. You will check in at our kiosk (outdoor desk), Located between the parking lot and the docks. OUTSIDE HILTON HEAD is written on the awnings.

During the Summer Shelter Cove Marina is very busy and parking fills up quickly. We strongly recommend arriving early to secure parking. If the lot near our outpost is full there is more parking near the shops to the left of the Neptune statue. Please park and walk toward the water side of the marina and follow the pathway to the left until you arrive at our desk located near the southwest corner of the marina next to the Ship's Store and Ela’s Grille.

##Here is what to bring for your activity:
Wear clothing that would be comfortable for a walk on the beach that day. Swimsuits are not necessary, but are permitted. Footwear that would stay on your feet in the water is required. Sport sandals such as Teva's or Chaco's are recommended, and old sneakers are fine, too. Sandals must attach around the ankle, so no flip-flops please. Sun protection is important, regardless of the weather or season. We strongly recommend a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Please bring a reusable water bottle as well. During Spring and Fall mornings and evenings bug spray may be necessary.

##We look forward to having you join us Outside, on the water!
