Thank you for booking with us! Your event is scheduled, and we are set to sail
Experience: This is a small boat sailing experience, so wear clothes that can get wet and bring plenty of water and reef-safe sunscreen.
Weather: Wind and waves are the main "excitement factor" on these trips, it could range from sporty wind and choppy waves to sunny skies and relaxing seas. Be prepared for anything! Our guides will show you the best of both worlds.
Safety: Lifejackets are provided and must be worn throughout the duration of the trip, and there will be a brief safety speech before we disembark. Overall, you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your children.
Property: If you plan to bring any electronics, please bring them in a waterproof casing such as a floating phone lanyard or dry box, if you don't have one yet these can be purchased at the beach shack on Smathers!
There are no storage lockers, and we do not hold liability for damage or theft of property. Remember this is the ocean, any metal or fragile objects are at risk of sun and salt exposure. Think ahead and let us know if you have any questions at learntosailkeywest@yahoo.com.
Location: Smathers Beach is the largest beach in Key West located on the south side of the island (key). Beach activities range from volleyball, tanning, snorkeling, and watersport/beachsport rentals. Family and friends are welcome to come and relax on the beach chair rentals available at Sunset Watersports beach shack.
Facilities: Public Restrooms are located next to the beach shack, just across from the free parking lot at Beach Access #4. Occasionally there are vending trucks at the beach parking lot, offering snacks, beverages, chairs, and rafts.

Cancellation Policy
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy in case of a change in your travel plans, or if you’re booking a different event with us.
If the weather is over our safety limits, we will contact you by email the morning of the event or meet with you in person at the scheduled time to reschedule for another day with no extra charge.
