About
Your lesson will take you from prone - to standing - to flying over the water. This hydrofoil is powered by an electric motor, so you won’t be working hard at all. Our instructors work personally with you on land and on the water to get you flying in your first session.
Efoils are self-propelled all-electric hydrofoil boards. You may not be familiar with the term “hydrofoil”, but you probably have seen them. A hydrofoil is literally a wing that is attached to the bottom side of a surfboard (or boat) to create lift underwater. This allows the rider to lift the board above the surface of the water to achieve a flying sensation which is very exhilarating. An efoil combines the board with the hydrofoil and adds an electric propeller to generate enough thrust to achieve flight.
**This lesson includes:**
- Ocean safety procedures
- Efoil safety procedures (life vest, helmet, and a whistle are provided)
- Efoil operation
- Respect for ocean resources
- We maintain a student to instructor ratio of 1-to-2 or better. This means that an instructor will be on the beach, and on the water with each student for the duration of the lesson. All instructors are trained on ocean safety, boating safety, and first aid CPR. Every student is required to wear a life vest, helmet, and a whistle for safety (all provided with the lesson). Our goal is to get each customer to stand up on the efoil and to experience the sensation of flying over water.
In all, you can expect your first 30-minutes in "ground school" learning our safety rules and progression. Then you will spend your next 60-minutes in "flight school" on the water, getting up on the board, and then flying over the water.
Requirements
Basic swimming skills, good balance, intermediate fitness level, and a sense of adventure. If you don’t feel that your swimming, balance, or fitness is sufficient, call us at 808-466-8788 to talk to a pro.

- as you turn off of Sand Island Access Road, follow the lane to the right, over a couple of speed bumps, and into the main parking lot near the water
- park in any car stall (do not park in the long stalls for boat trailers)
- walk towards the beach

- you can lock your bag, phone, keys, etc. in our van that is equipped with an security system
- look for us to be set up with two or more efoil boards on the beach
