**Hi there,**

Thank you for enrolling in the **Open Water Diver Course with Dive Eden** — we’re thrilled to have you join us! Learning to dive is an incredible step toward new adventures, whether you’re dreaming of exploring local reefs, travelling to tropical destinations, spotting unique marine life, or simply experiencing the magic of breathing underwater for the first time. Whatever your reason, we’re excited to help you begin your journey.

Below is some important information to help you prepare for your course. If anything is unclear, please feel free to reach out.

**1. Equipment**

All equipment is included for use during your Open Water Course. If you already own personal items such as a mask or snorkel, you’re welcome to bring them. We also have equipment available for purchase if you’d like to start building your own dive kit.

**2. Register and complete your course materials**

To begin your training, you’ll need to create an **SSI account** (at [https://my.divessi.com](https://my.divessi.com)) and affiliate with **Dive Eden**. This will give you access to your online learning materials and the required forms. Please complete all course materials, documents and the final exam before your first training day.

**To set up your SSI account:**

Create your profile at [https://my.divessi.com](https://my.divessi.com) and affiliate with Dive Eden. Please reach out once you've created your MySSI profile and your course materials will be allocated within 48 hours.

**Before your course commences, within MySSI, please ensure you have:**

- Created an account and affiliated with Dive Eden

- Completed all online course materials and the final exam. You can access your materials under **“Courses”** in the MySSI App or under **“Training”** on the website.

- Completed the Medical Questionnaire†, Responsible Diver Code, and Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver (found in the “Documents” section)

- Added your home address to your profile

- Uploaded a profile photo (no sunglasses, hats, or masks — but smiling is encouraged)

**†Important health note:**

Recreational scuba diving and freediving require good physical and mental health. Some medical conditions can increase the risks associated with diving. The **Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire** helps determine whether you should be assessed by a physician before participating. For your safety — and the safety of those diving with you — please answer all questions honestly and well in advance of the course to allow time for any questions. If you are feeling unwell at any time, it’s important to avoid diving.
