Experience one of our Ocean Safari's in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. Our Ocean Safari's are a 3 hour or 2 hour experience, where we have the opportunity to see the majestic Humpback and other whales, such as Fin, and Sperm, when in season. We can see Minke Whales all year long!

We’ll look for an observe Dolphins, Porpoises, Seals, Bluefin Tuna, Basking Sharks and other varieties of fish and birds on our whale watching tours during their perspective seasons. During our tours, we can also see puffins, gannets, eagles and more! The pictures taken on these pages are from our tours exclusively, so you can imagine the range of wildlife that we see. Be sure to check out some of the photos or videos from our whale watching tours for a more exclusive look into what you could expect on our Ocean Safari tours.

Icebergs may be viewed seasonally (usually April - July) and when in our area. Unfortunately they're always on the move so please check out www.icebergfinder.com for more up to date information or you can call us to find out out what we've been seeing.

Equipment For Whale Watching Tours:

Your safety is our priority! Our zodiac boat is a 25 foot RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat). What is a RHIB? Also known as a “Zodiac”. RHIBs are some of the most versatile boats available and are used as rescue boats, and patrol boats. Our RHIB is Transport Canada certified as a tour operating boat with a capacity of 12 persons. As well we equip you in floatation suits to keep the weather of the North Atlantic at bay. Please dress in warm layers year round and solid toed footwear, sandals are not recommended.

Please note that these tours are more rugged and run rain or shine. The ride can be bumpier than on larger boats, so choose wisely. We do not recommend our boats for children under six years old.

We require a minimum of 6 people in order to head out for a tour. If you are unsure whether we have enough people booked you can call us at 709-464-3712.

We require 48 hours notice for cancellations or rebooking requests.

Booking Notes

We ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the tour starts. Please check in at the front desk of the Main Lodge at 1 Stoneman's Lane, Trinity NL A0C2S0. We are a bright orange house located beside St. Paul's Anglican Church.

**Please note that the smallest survival suit we can get is an adult extra small which can be to large for some children. In the event that your child is too small for a survival suit they will be outfitted with a lifejacket. Please make sure small children are dressed according to the weather and in warm layers.

Closed toed shoes are highly reccommended for ocean tours all year round. Gloves or mittens and warm hats are also advised. The temperature on the water is on average 10 degrees colder then the temperature on land.

Please call us if you have any questions at 709-464-3712

Important Information

Our tours are a more rugged adventure depending on weather so people with back issues or guests that are pregnant are asked to consult your doctor if you have concerns. Please let your Skipper know if you are pregnant or if you have any back/mobility issues.

We have had kids of all ages on our tours but keep in mind it is a more rugged tour and since we go rain or shine not all kids appreciate the views and the experience, due to this fact we recommend that no one under the age of 6 years old partake. It is very inconvenient for other guests to return to the dock after we have departed our inner bay so keep other passengers in mind before you decide to book and bring a young child. The ocean can be rough, and it remains quite cold out on the water all summer compared to land. Adults get outfitted in floatation suits but they do not make kids sizes so you would be responsible for dressing your child in warm waterproof layers and we will supply a life jacket. Ultimately it is up to you to decide whether a tour like ours is an appropriate activity for your family.
