About
While stand-up paddling may have developed in various places around the world, the modern surfing tradition has undeniable Polynesian ancestry. In the 1940s, surf instructors in Waikiki like Duke Kahanamoku and Leroy and Bobby AhChoy would take paddles and stand on their boards to get a better view of the surfers in the water.

Now we invite you to embark on a journey through time and nature on our 90 min SUP or Kayak Nature & Turtle River tour. Our guided tour includes stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) or kayaking along the serene waters of Oahu’s longest watercourse, the Anahulu River.

This SUP or Kayak Tour is perfect for the beginners and all ages! One could only dream of such a beautiful setting and this is one lesson you’ll remember for a life time.

We will Adventure into of the Anahulu River (also called Anahulu Stream) located on the famous North Shore to get a better view of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. As we venture up this ancient Hawaiian stream we enter a highway for sea turtles. The turtles use this water way to rest from the long ocean voyages on the Pacific. This is also a place where they are safe from predators. They can be seen swimming below and beside you and resting on the banks of the stream, basking in the warm Hawaiian sun.

The Anahulu River, also known as Anahulu Stream, is a significant watercourse on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Here’s a description of this picturesque river:
• Length: The river stretches for about 7.1 miles (11.4 km)1.
• Formation: It originates from the confluence of Kawainui and Kawaiiki streams on the western side of the northern Koolau Range1.
• Course: The river flows west-northwest, descending through Kawailoa Gulch, and eventually empties into the eastern end of Waialua Bay at Haleiwa1.
• Watershed: The Anahulu River has a watershed area of approximately 16 square miles (41 km²)1.
• Historical Significance: The valley near the river’s mouth was the site of ancient Hawaiian villages and later became a popular summer vacation destination for Hawaiian monarchs in the 19th century1.

The name ‘Anahulu’ translates to ‘ten days’ in Hawaiian, which adds to the cultural richness of the river. The Anahulu River is not only a natural habitat for the Hawaiian green sea turtles but also a serene location that offers a peaceful escape amidst lush jungle greenery and the warm Hawaiian sunshine. It’s a place where history and nature intertwine, providing a unique experience for visitors and locals alike. 🌿🐢
