About
A Kayak tour around the bay reveals an old stone fort built to protect the area from pirates and a variety of marine life. Where the harbour meets the open sea, paddlers are rewarded with views of the Pembrokeshire coast towards Dinas Head, a rugged coastline of towering cliffs and caves.
Fishguard Bay is a place of natural beauty and tranquillity. The deep bay, surrounded by high cliffs, offers calm seas and natural protection from Pembrokeshire’s characteristic coastal winds and waves – the perfect place to go kayaking.
Sit on top sea kayaks are a stable, efficient and extremely seaworthy craft which makes wildlife observation accessible and totally unobtrusive. All Kayak-King sea kayaking trips are fully guided and have been designed for paddlers at every level of experience (yes, even complete newbies or families with young kids "4 years+").
Hop on a sea kayaking tour with us and we’ll take you off the beaten track to hidden coastlines, beautiful sandy beaches, remote caves and wildlife utopias.
And while you should be in reasonable physical condition, you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy one of our sea kayaking adventures. You just have to show up ready to savour the peaceful solitude of exploring nature by kayak.

Possible Highlights
- **Pirate Fort:** A seventeenth-century fort overlooking our traditional Welsh harbour.
- **Rainbow Cave:** A cavernous cave with a variety of colours on the walls. This cave has a waterfall for its entrance and often makes noises like a dragon breathing.
- **Seal Beach:** In late August this beach has seal pups.
- **Needle Rock:** A towering rock arch that can be paddled through. This sea stack has rare nesting birds in early summer.
- **N.B.:** The locations we are visiting always depend on the weather conditions.

All safety equipment is provided (including wetsuits) to keep you warm and happy.

What to Bring
- Swimwear and a towel
- Any shoes that you don't mind getting wet.
- On cold days: Jumper or fleece that you don't mind getting wet
- On hot days: On really hot days you might wish to bring clothes to wear that you don't mind getting wet (much more comfortable than a wetsuit), a hat and water.

## Arrival & Check-in
Please arrive in good time so you’re ready to check in at your booked start time.
**Parking**
The car park is free of charge. It can get busy at times, but spaces usually become available quickly.
**Toilets**
Public toilets are located along the harbour wall towards the sea and are signposted halfway along the harbourside through a walkway between two garages.
**Check-in**
Please check in **5 minutes before your start time**, wearing normal clothes appropriate for the weather.
If you arrive late, your booking may be classed as a no-show.
You’ll be greeted by your kayak guides at the booking start time along with the rest of your group.

Your guide will give a short introductory talk that answers everything and allows time to get everyone ready properly.

## Equipment
All kayaking equipment is provided, including wetsuits, windproofs, and safety kit.
After the introduction, you’ll be given your equipment and time to return to your car to get changed. Secure storage for car keys is provided.

On colder days, bring a jumper or fleece you don’t mind getting wet.
On warm days, you may prefer lightweight clothes rather than a wetsuit — your guide will advise during the introduction.

**Photos are included in the cost of your experience.**
They’ll be sent to the email address or mobile number used for your booking.
**Bringing your own phone or camera**
You’re welcome to bring your phone or camera on the water, but please note:
* We can’t accept responsibility for loss or damage
* “Waterproof” phones are not saltwater-proof
* A tethered waterproof case is required (available to purchase on arrival)
* Phones must be placed in **aeroplane mode**

## Weather & Sea Conditions
**Please assume your tour is going ahead as planned.**
If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll contact you as soon as a decision is made.
If you don’t hear from us, the tour is running as booked.
**Rain**
We still run — we provide appropriate equipment and rain is very much part of the experience.
**Wind**
Occasionally strong winds may require cancellation, although our location offers shelter from most wind directions.
If we do need to cancel due to weather or safety, you’ll be offered **a full refund, credit, or an alternative date**.
