Makena Bay is our kayaking and snorkeling destination, famous for the Green Sea Turtle population and exceptional paddling conditions.. Not far from Makena Landing is an area called “Turtle Town”. Turtle Town is the home to a high concentration of Hawaiian Green Sea turtles (Honus). It is very common here to also see rays and dolphins as well as the Hawaiian monk seal. During whale season (October thru April) you will have the opportunity to see Humpback whales during their annual migration to the Islands to mate and give birth.

KAYAK RENTALS - Please join us at Makena Landing no later than 6:45am to take possession of the equipment (Please plan your drive to arrive on time). Your rental day is until no later than 10:45am.

NOTE - Failure to arrive on time (by 06:45am) may result on reservation being cancelled.

**When you're done place the kayak behind our trailer with gear on top, send us a quick text to 808.875.4848 with a pic of kayak and gear, and you're free to go. Simple.**

Rentals include
• Paddle(s) * PFD’s (aka Life jacket)
• Paddle leashes * Bow line
• Backrests * Dry bag

……The fine print…….
As a rental, you are deemed to be competent with the use, safety and care of the equipment. We will provide some basic use and safety tips, but it is your responsibility to be self-sufficient out there landing and launching yourselves. As well, being safe and understanding the risks associated with going out on the ocean.

Lastly, PFD’s (aka Life Jackets) only work if you wear them. You are deemed to have agreed to wear the provided PFD’s with the rental.

If in parking lot, with ocean on right, walk up over little hill and you will see the kayaks
**Please plan your drive to arrive on time (allowing 15 minutes extra for check in, sunscreen, etc.)**

Drive south on Makena Alanui past the Fairmont Kealani resort for about 1.9 miles. You will see a street sign "Honoiki" with a right turn towards ocean. Turn here and at the bottom of the hill look right- you will see where the kayaks launch from. Look / Ask for South Pacific Kayaks (see sign). All kayak guides are friendly and happy to help.
