Kayak Rentals at Lake Minnetonka
We offer lightweight and stable kayak rentals for all abilities. Rent by the hour, half day, full day or multi-day. We turn over our gear annually and offer a brand new rental fleet every season. Wai Nani Surf & Paddle only uses the best, most enjoyable rental kayaks around.
We offer **single** and **tandem** kayak rentals.

We support the [Three Rivers Parks District](https://www.threeriversparks.org/) and our Local [YMCA](https://www.ymcanorth.org/locations/ridgedale_ymca) with discounted equipment rentals.
We carry all of the required licenses, permits, and insurance to provide rentals and classes at Lake Minnetonka.

* A swimsuit, rash guard, or athletic top with shorts as appropriate kayaking attire.
* We also recommend a towel, dry clothes, and some waterproof sunscreen. You may opt for some sunglasses (with an attachment strap) and a hat for extra sun protection.
* Hydration is very important during and after kayaking.

**🌧️Weather policy**
A light shower can be refreshing and over in 5 minutes. But, if more substantial rain is anticipated, we will reschedule at a more convenient time. Additionally, if we believe the day’s weather or water conditions to be hazardous, we reserve the right to reschedule.

Yes, you can. We have storage cubbies that are available for you to store your belongings in. They’re not lockers but our staff is present at the desk.

**Are there any restroom facilities available on-site?**
We are located at a public park which has free restrooms
**Do I need to make a Lake Minnetonka paddleboard rental reservation in advance?**
We highly recommend a reservation to guarantee availability, but we do offer walk-up rentals as well.
**Are the kayaks sit on top or sit inside kayaks?**
We have both, sit inside and ride on top. The exact kayak will be based on availability, we’ll do our best to get you the one you want.
Age Activity Notice
Due to safety concerns, classes and rentals are for individuals age 12+ only (age 12-15 must be accompanied on the water by a parent or adult guardian.) Sorry, no riders.
Renters under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on the required waiver form. Waiver forms are available through the online booking process or can be provided onsite.

Wai Nani Surf & Paddle only uses the best, most enjoyable rental paddleboards and kayaks around. Our brand-new rental fleet is made up of stable 2022 lightweight Grey Duck paddleboards and Old Town Kayaks that comfortably accommodate paddlers up to approximately 230 lbs. To ensure the utmost safety of our guests, participants MUST be in good physical condition to independently pull themselves up in the event they fall off their board. Wai Nani Surf & Paddle reserves the right to close rental operations in the event of cautious wind (10+ mph) and weather. Please call prior to departing for the beach in the event of questionable wind/weather.

Sorry, no pet riders allowed while renting at Wayzata Beach, Half/Full Day, Weekend, and Multi-Day Rentals outside of Wayzata Beach are available to ALL ages when reserved by a consenting adult age 18+.
