Preparing for Your Jules’ Aquanaut Adventure 🌊
Dear Aquanaut,
Your upcoming mission at Jules’ Undersea Lab is just around the corner, and we are excited to welcome you beneath the sea!
As your adventure approaches, here are a few friendly reminders to ensure everything goes smoothly:
✔ Before You Arrive
Complete your required waiver in advance (this is mandatory for participation):
Please have each team member complete and sign the following Pre-Dive Agreement before your arrival:
Bring your diver certification card and logbook.
All participants must have completed a SCUBA dive within the past six months. If your last dive was more than six months ago, you must complete a refresher course or a dive before your Aquanaut Mission. Please contact us or your local dive shop to make arrangements.
Review all pre and post dive decompression and flying guidelines carefully and plan your travel accordingly.
🎒 Packing Tips
Remember, your belongings will travel to the habitat in a waterproof case approximately the size of 19x15x5 inches. Please pack light and bring only essentials:
Comfortable clothing for inside the habitat
Personal hygiene items (we provide towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner)
Any required medications (please inform staff in advance)
**For safety reasons, the following items are not permitted inside the habitat:**
Aerosol sprays
Cigarettes, vaping devices, or any smoking products
Alcohol or recreational drugs
Hair dryers, curling irons, heating pads, or other heat-producing electrical devices
CPAP/BiPAP machines or other non-approved electrical medical equipment
EpiPens or injectable emergency medications
Antihistamines or medications that may impair alertness unless previously approved by the Mission Director.
🌊 Your Aquanaut Mission
During your stay, you’ll complete three Aquanaut Excursion Dives in Jules’ Lagoon, each focused on:
Marine life identification and logging
Artifact location, mapping, and sketching
Applied underwater task
You may also enjoy additional recreational dives from the habitat throughout your stay.
🤝 Team-Based Diving Policy
The Jules’ Aquanaut Mission is designed as a team-based experience. All lagoon dives conducted during the mission are performed using the buddy system and under structured mission protocols.
Solo diving during the Aquanaut Mission is not permitted.
The only exception applies to participants who hold a current Self-Reliant Diver Specialty certification (or equivalent recognized certification). Documentation of this certification must be provided in advance and approved by the Mission Director prior to the mission start.
This policy ensures safety, mission integrity, and a collaborative underwater experience for all Aquanauts.
Upon arrival, your Mission Director will greet you, review your schedule, and guide you through your topside orientation before escorting you into the habitat. Throughout your mission, your Mission Director remains on call topside to support you as concierge, instructor, and safety officer.
🌊 Pre- and Post-Dive Travel Reminder
Because the Aquanaut Mission is a saturation diving experience, no SCUBA diving is permitted during the 24 hours before your mission begins or for 24 hours after surfacing.
You must also NOT fly for a full 24 hours after surfacing. Please plan any diving and return travel accordingly to allow for these required safety windows.
You are about to join a very select group of individuals who have lived and worked in an underwater habitat through a true saturation experience. It is an accomplishment few can claim and we are honored to share it with you.
If you have any last minute questions before arrival, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We look forward to welcoming you soon and supporting you throughout your Aquanaut Mission.
Warm regards,
Joe Berg
