If you want to venture deeper into the 2nd largest bald cypress swamp in the nation the 4 hour excursion trip is for you.
Guided by an experienced local naturalist, exploring the vast cypress forests and bayous that make up our nation’s 2nd largest bald cypress swamp.
Lake Maurepas if famous for its dense barred owl populations as well as other large birds of prey. This is an immersive swamp adventure, educational and rewarding, intended for the outdoorsy traveller looking for a non-touristy authentic swamp experience.

Everyone gets their own kayak per request or we have tandem kayaks too.

**Please note:** Extended Manchac tours need at least 2 guests to go out. If you're the only guest booked, we'll contact you before your tour to move you to a private tour, a new date, or a full refund. Traveling solo and want a guaranteed trip? Swimsuit or light layered synthetic clothing, (seasonal) windbreaker/fleece if cooler, change of clothes, towel, hat, sunglasses, sunglasses retainer, waterproof camera, water. Gratuity is not included in kayak tour price. Your guide works hard to ensure your safety and well-being, please let them know if you had a good time.

There are multiple gas stations near the exit of the highway before you arrive.
- Last chance for bathrooms, snacks and water!
- If you need to stop for supplies and bathrooms, add on 20 minutes to your departure time!
- If you are coming from New Orleans, Do not miss exit# 209!!
If you are lost, return to the LaPlace Shell Station and follow these directions.
Take right onto Old Hwy 51 from parking lot and continue straight for 5.1 miles. We launch on the side of the road in a large gravel area. Look for boat trailers and cars parked along the left hand side of the road. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE LAUNCH. PARK ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD FROM THE LAUNCH. We may still be coming from New Orleans in the van, so be patient if we are not there yet.
PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT THE TOUR LOCATION 20 MINS BEFORE TOUR
Our goal is to leave the kayak launch 10-15 minutes after the tour is scheduled. Tour participants that do not show up at least by the time of the tour will not be issued a refund.

Cancellation Policy
Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather.
The activity usually runs in light rain, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions.
New Orleans Kayak Swamp Tours offers a 100% refund or rescheduling for tour cancellation due to inclement weather e.g. weather considered hazardous to tour members safety. This includes: lighting storms, unsafe water conditions, wildfires, etc.
Tours still operate in rain as long as the safety of clients is not jeopardized.
100% refund is issued if cancellation is greater than 48 hours before tour time.
No refund is issued for no calls/no shows the morning of the tour.
