**Our Training Programme**
**2 days** at our Training Centre, Sandringham
**3 days, 2 nights** Wilsons Prom / Snake Island / Corner Inlet area, departing Port Welshpool
**Includes:**
- Sea Kayak (Current Designs Storm GT), spraydeck, PFD (personal floatation device), pump, sponge
- 5 day's instruction by qualified instructor.
You are welcome to bring your own kayak and gear (please let us know).
**What to bring:**
- Camping gear & kayak clothing. Hire and purchase of camping and kayaking gear can be arranged. See our [Expedition page](https://eastcoastkayaking.com.au/expedition-kayaking-bass-strait) for YouTubes and lists. As part of the course we will discuss gear suggestions.
- Food - self catering. We can supply some menu suggestions.
**Meet:**
At our Training Centre, 37 Jetty Road Sandringham on Day One.
On Day 2 night or early Day 3 morning we will drive to Port Welshpool, then out wild camping. This on water program is subject to weather, which will determine when and what direction we go.

Clothing - Thermals, fleece, board shorts / thermal long pants (depending on conditions), footwear (can be old runners, but not thongs, sandals or crocs), light rain jacket (summer and winter), sun glasses with retainer and hat are a must! Wetsuits are a good idea in the colder months. Spare thermals & raincoat are useful when off the water.

Most of these items are available to purchase at our [Kayak Shop](https://kayakshopaustralia.com.au/kayak-clothing/) - you can click & collect on the day. Allow time to try clothing on so that you have the correct size.
Meet at our Training Centre at The Kayak Shop, 37 Jetty Road Sandringham at 9am for a 9:30am start. After the weekend (Sunday night or early Monday morning) we will drive to Port Welshpool for the second part of the course.
Parking - a maximum of $18.00 parking fee applies in all day car parks. Free if you have a Bayside Council Beach Parking Permit. If you wish to park for free, arrive early and drop off your personal belongings at the training centre and park your car in Arthur Street, which runs parallel with Beach Road, a short 10 min walk back.
Lunch - bring a cut lunch or splash out at the cafe next door - they do a great burger!
