We frame this outing around the events of 9th April 1940 when Norway was occupied by Nazi Germany,
We'll start off as we normally do with a tour of the beautiful Oslo sea front passing some of the main sights, including Oslo City Hall, the Akershus Fortress, Bjørvika with the fabulous Oslo Opera house, and Edward Munch Museum. Continuing past Sørenga taking in the views of the picturesque islands of the inner Harbour area, as we head south passing through the myriad of islands outside Sandvika eventually reaching Oscarborg, located on the island of Kaholmen.
En route we may catch a glimpse of sea eagles and seals. Even porpoise and dolphins are known to be spotted out here.
We'll spend the next few hours exploring the island and the fortress museum by foot, before settling down for a snack, a drink, or a meal at one of the restaurants on the island.
Eventually, we'll have to set course back towards Oslo which is a 45 minute sunset cruise away. As we approach Oslo we wiill pass the iconic Dyna Fyr, Tjuvholmen with the Astrup Fearnley museum, and Aker Brygge before we disembark at our final destination in front of the Oslo City Hall.
