About
Our river trips offer a wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of Coldwater Creek. On this trip we offer single kayaks, duo kayaks, canoeing w/o seatbacks, canoes with seatbacks and stand-up paddleboarding. Life jackets and paddles are included in your equipment rental. We do not transport personal crafts. Select one of our classic regular canoes or upgrade to a canoe with seatbacks for added comfort!
Requirements
- **Age:** There are no specific age restrictions on river activities, ** however we do require that you bring your personal, Coast Guard approved life jacket for any children in your party to ensure a proper fit. Children 6 and under are required by law to wear a life jacket at all times while on watercraft.
- **Weight** - The maximum weight for our kayaks and tubes is 250 lbs. Canoes have a maximum capacity of 500 lbs. Coolers should be limited to one 48 quart sized cooler or smaller. Please limit gear to avoid tipping and/or loss of personal items. Kids 10 and under may ride in the middle of a canoe sitting on the floor, not on the thwarts or on top of a cooler. No more than 2 children in the middle of a canoe. Due to the paddling skills required to properly canoe, we highly recommend you research proper canoeing techniques and safety prior to your trip. Adventures Unlimited staff will also assist with instruction on the day of arrival if requested.

- No more than 3 alcoholic drinks (12oz can) per legal adult are permitted; for safety reasons, AUOC reserves the right to check coolers prior to your departure. Additionally, no open containers are allowed in our vehicles when you are being transported to the drop point for your trip.

If you are a first-time paddler, are not in good physical condition, or are not a strong swimmer, we recommend the 4-mile trip. Please note that river depths can reach greater than 6 feet in some parts, thus we urge guests with limited swimming experience or low stamina to exercise caution when selecting their adventure.
What to bring
- The most commonly lost items on the river are car keys, wallets, cell phones and glasses so please plan carefully regarding those items.
- We recommend bringing sunscreen, bug spray, water, and a picnic lunch. You are more than welcome to bring a cooler;
- NO STYROFOAM OR GLASS ALLOWED ON THE RIVER.
- Canoes will hold up to a 48-gallon cooler; small, soft side coolers work best for kayaks, and we have cooler tubes ($15.90 – 4-mile trip only).
**Can I bring my dog**
You are more than welcome to bring your dog to Adventures Unlimited, as they are welcome on the river and in our designated “pet-friendly” accommodations. Pets must be collared and leashed while on our property and while being transported in our vehicles. As a friendly reminder, please remember to pick up after your dog. The cost to take a pet on the river is $10, payable in the Shop. The most comfortable craft to take your dog in is a canoe, however, smaller dogs are comfortable in a kayak, as well.

##Important Things to Know About River Trips:
- Please **arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.**
** Please note: The 11mi. Trip leaves promptly at 9AM. If you are late, you can go on a shorter trip at 10AM. We schedule all 4mi./7mi. Trips on the hour, however on busy days we may depart more often.
- Please remember **NO glass bottles or styrofoam containers are allowed.**

##River Trip Cancellation Policy:
If you **cancel** your prepaid reservation **MORE THAN 48** hours prior to your activity, there is a $5.00 per person cancellation fee and the remainder of your prepayment will be refunded. If you are **within the 48 hours** prior to your river trip, NO refund will be given, but we will keep the credit on file for you to reschedule within 365 days.
##Inclement Weather:
In the event of inclement weather, the CANCELLATION POLICY is in effect. As an outdoor venue, weather & river levels are **BEYOND OUR CONTROL.**
##Before you arrive:
- Please view and print our release of [liability form](https://d1a2dkr8rai8e2.cloudfront.net/api/file/pnqfDzycT0u4eWu7AyUL). We need the legal signature of everyone 16 and older. Anyone under 16 is being signed for by the Group Leader.
- For a pleasurable day on the water, be sure to pack sunscreen, water, dry towels, a hat, and snacks. There are snacks, drinks, and ice available for purchase in our deli.
##FOR DAY RIVER TRIPS (4 mile, 7 mile, OR 11 mile)
**When you arrive:**
- Please leave your coolers and belongings in your vehicle. Come up the ramp to the office to check in for your trip, and say the magic word “Prepaid.” If everyone 16 and older has not already signed the river waiver ahead of time, they will all need to come sign the river contract at the office upon check in. **We will have your river contract ready (with the pink carbon copy) inside the office**; please do not fill out a blank contract outside (with the yellow carbon copy), which are intended for walk-ins only.
- Once you have checked in with the office and given us all signatures, you will then grab your own equipment that we provide (tubes, paddles and/or life jackets) at the open-faced shack near the end of the ramp.
- Bring your equipment to the loading dock are near the end of the ramp (with the overhead canopy), and check in with our staff using your **pink carbon copy receipt.** This step puts you on the transport list and your driver will be giving you further instructions at this point.
- At this time you will get your coolers and belongings from your vehicle.
**When you complete your trip:**
- Please return the equipment to its proper location (tubes, paddles and life jackets).
- Return to your vehicle and be safe driving!
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your prepaid reservation MORE THAN 48 hours prior to your activity, there is a $5.00 per craft cancellation fee, and the remainder of your prepayment will be refunded to the card on file. If you are within the 48 hours prior to your river trip, you will have an in-house credit valid for up to a full calendar year (no refunds).
