About
Join us on one of the longest nights of the year as we paddle into town on July 3rd at 10:00PM and form a flotilla of kayaks to watch the midnight fireworks and enjoy hot chocolate. We'll return to Miller's Landing between 1:30 and 2:00AM.

* **Please reframe from drinking excessively before the tour. Drinks will not be permitted during the tour. Kayaking and alcohol do not mix well.**
* **If you want to eat or grab food to go at the café before your trip, please arrive an hour early**

# What you should bring
- **There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad equipment** - *Old Norwegian saying*
- **Assume it's going to rain** and be happy when it doesn't. The majority of the time it's gorgeous out there, but there's nothing like being prepared.
* **Layer, Layer, and Layer:** Synthetics or wool are best with a rain proof top and bottom if possible. We do have dry bags for a full change of clothes if you'd like to bring that, as well as any favorite snacks you choose to bring.
* **Rain Gear:** We have some extra rain gear, but recommend if you have some, to bring your own. Ask your guide if you are unsure about your setup.
* **Gloves:** Bulky gloves can be more trouble than they're worth, absorb water and keep it there, doing more harm than good! Light duty polypropylene gloves or featherweight neoprene can get wet, are cheap, pack easy, etc. We also have pogies available for our National Park trips.
* **Comfortable Shoes:** Be sure to wear shoes you can walk or kayak in. You should never have to step into water when your guide launches or brings in your kayak. Rain boots, hiking shoes work best, but tennis shoes or similar work fine as well.
* **A good hat:**
* Sunscreen & any medication you may need
* **Sea sickness meds:** - if you know you suffer from sea sickness, ask your doctor if [Promethazine](https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-8895/promethazine-oral/details) is appropriate for you. If it's good enough for astronauts, it'll probably work on our boats. Transderm Scopalamine patches are also very effective and don't result in drowsiness.
* **Camera:** If you have a waterproof housing or bag, definitely bring it! On kayaking trips, cameras of course have an increased risk of falling into the ocean. Phones work great, we have water resistant phone cases for sale in the office.
* **Water Bottle:** We have extra water, but please bring a water bottle so we can refill it. Let your guide know if you dont have one.
#Location and Directions
Miller’s Landing is located at 13890 Beach Drive, Seward Alaska 99664. Which is about 1 ½ mile south of the city of Seward along Resurrection Bay at Lowell Point. If you are coming into Seward from the Anchorage area (North of us) then you should be on Highway 9 (the Seward Highway) which turns into 3rd Ave once you hit the Seward city limits. Stay on this road until it ends and you can either turn left (towards Alaska Sealife Center) or right towards Lowell Point Road. Turn right onto Lowell Point Road. Just past the waterfall the road will turn from pavement to dirt. Continue to follow this road for another 1 ½ miles until you see the Miller’s Landing Welcome sign.
