The waiver is not to be signed until you and your party arrive on location. It will be reviewed in person with Compass Heli Staff prior to signing.
**Fishing Licences** All guests on kayaking trips require non-tidal fresh water single day fishing licences whether they plan to fish or not. They can be purchased [here](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/recreation/fishing-hunting/fishing/recreational-freshwater-fishing-licence) for $11.43 for residents of BC and $22.86 for non-residents of BC.
**Location**
We are located at the Fort Langley Airport, 23945 River Rd. This is a gated facility. Please call 778-242-1145 upon arrival. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time for safety briefing. You can find us by entering "Compass Heli Tours" in Google Maps. If you have requested a pick up from the Fraser River Lodge, Abbotsford Airport, or Vancouver Heliport, please meet at the selected location.
**What to Wear**
Please be advised that temperatures in the mountains are 10 to 20 degrees colder than the city. We recommend dressing in outdoor apparel active layers: long pants, long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, wind breaker fleece, and appropriate outdoor footwear (hiking shoes, boots or trail runners with lightweight merino wool socks). Please ensure footwear is clean to prevent introduction of invasive soils and plant species. Rain jacket, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and sun glasses are recommended as well. For those on the kayak or paddle-board trips, you may get wet, and therefore we suggest you bring a change of clothes. Or if it’s really hot out, bring sandals, a towel, and swimming attire in addition to the above items. We encourage all guests to bring a day bag with extra clothes if unforeseen mechanical or weather issues are encountered on your flight that require a stop over in the wilderness.
**General Helicopter Safety**
-All devices that transmit a signal (including cameras with GPS), must be set to airplane mode and the GPS disabled.
-No smoking or vaping in or around aircraft
-Keep seat belts fastened at all times inside the aircraft
-Never approach downhill toward the rotors or uphill away from the rotors
-Wait for rotors to stop turning before entering or exiting

-Listen to your pilot’s instructions
Cancellation Policy
#Cancellation Policy
At Compass Heli Tours, we place your safety and satisfaction above all else. We strive to adapt to your preferences to ensure you have an unforgettable helicopter journey. However, unexpected events or weather conditions may occasionally interfere with these bucket list experiences.
This policy is subject to change without notice. If you have any questions or concerns about your trip, email info@compasshelitours.com
###Mountain Weather
There is no local weather forecast for the locations we fly to. We use an aviation graphic area forecast model with a 12-hour outlook to get a general idea of current and forecast conditions, as well as a variety of other forecast models. Mountain weather is unpredictable, so in the event of adverse weather conditions (poor visibility, high winds, heavy precipitation), we reserve the right to cancel the tour on short notice (less than 24 hours) for your safety and ours. We can’t fly in the clouds; we must always have a visual reference to the terrain.
Localized low cloud ceilings in the mountains may be encountered on an otherwise beautiful day in the city. These low clouds can result in delayed access or deny us access to some locations. Overcast days in the city can also mean low clouds in the mountains. Conversely, cloudy or foggy days in the city can also mean a blue sky in the mountains! In the end, we really don’t know what we will have for the weather in the mountains until we fly out there and have a look. You came all this way for an adventure, and we promise you’re going to have an amazing time, even if we don’t get to the location we intend to.
###Wildfires
What about wildfires? Widespread smoke from fires in Alberta, British Columbia, or even south of the border can affect the views on your flight. If the smoke restricts visibility beyond the Transport Canada legal requirements, your flight will be delayed or cancelled. During periods of intense wildfire activity, the BC Forest Service may call upon every aircraft to fight fires. This can happen on very short notice and would result in a cancellation of your flight. A refund would be issued; however, we are not responsible for your travel expenses.
#CANCELLATIONS & TOUR MODIFICATION
###Tour Modifications
Regarding all paddle sports activities, if we are unable to access our primary adventure areas, we will default to our fishing location. There is no difference in trip cost between these two locations and no credits or refunds will be issued.
###Compass Cancellations
If Compass Heli Tours must cancel the trip on short notice due to weather, wildfires, or any other unforeseen circumstance, we will do our best to reschedule the helicopter adventure package, at no extra charge, to a time and date that is convenient for you, as long as it does not conflict with another flight. Alternatively, a credit or full refund will be issued as your choice. Please be advised we are not responsible costs or expenses in the event of a cancellation as set out below.
###Guest Cancellations
You may cancel your confirmed reservation or change the trip date or time up to 14 days prior to the scheduled departure date and receive a credit or full refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to scheduled flight time will be charged the full amount of the helicopter adventure package. For bookings made inside this 14-day window, payment is non-refundable unless Compass Heli Tours cancels in accordance with these T&Cs as set out above.
We will honour current season pricing for up to 1 year if you wish to reschedule your trip. After that, the difference in price will be added to your booking. If you must cancel, please note that eligible refunds will be processed within 1-2 weeks.
###No Shows
Customers who do not show up for the scheduled flight will be charged the full amount of the helicopter adventure package. Customers who do not show up on time for the scheduled flight will be considered a no-show after 60 minutes and charged the full amount of the helicopter adventure package. Customers who are less than 60 minutes late will have that time deducted from the overall duration of their trip if there is another scheduled flight after theirs.
###COMPASS HELI TOURS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY COSTS OR EXPENSES
In the event a trip is modified or cancelled for any reason, Compass Heli Tours’ sole liability shall be in accordance with the Modification and Cancellation policies set out above. Compass Heli Tours will not be responsible to any guest for any travel, interruption or additional costs or lost opportunities, or for any direct, indirect, consequential, liquidated, compensatory, or incidental damages or any other damages or amounts of any nature whatsoever.
