#Minimums to Operate
Notice this tours requires a minimum of 10 participants to run. If minimums are not met you will be offered the option to Reschedule or cancel with full refund.
#Bioluminescence Visibility
Notice this is a natural environment and bioluminescence visibility can change throughout the year. The peak months for the bioluminescence are March through October, and is best seen on the darkest nights of the lunar cycle. The "null" months or low to no visibility are November through February, and although Puerto Rico offers all year Caribbean weather we do have cold fronts passing, heavy swell and rain which can lower normal water temperatures and affect bioluminescence visibility.
#Full Moon Notice:
Notice from half moon to third day after the full moon night, this tour is offered as a Full Moon Kayak Adventure, focused on the ecology and not the bioluminescence as the moonlight reflecting on the surface of the water may cause low or no visibility.
#Weight & Height Restrictions:
Maximum per person weight 230 pounds, regardless of combined weight. For safety guests may be weighed at tour site.
Maximum suggested height 6'4"
#What To Bring:
• We suggest that you wear lightweight long sleeve shirts and pants that you do not mind getting wet in, along with wearing some type of water shoes. Bring a change of dry clothes and towel, for the ride back to your accommodations. Dress smart, to protect yourself from mosquitoes, light colors work best!
#Climate
• In and around the water at night you can always count that the temperature will be somewhat cooler. If you are cold natured having a lightweight windbreaker or rain gear may help in keeping you warm and dry.
#Mosquitoes
These insects are present in the coastal wetlands of Puerto Rico, their numbers will fluctuate based on the time of the year and current weather conditions! Peak Season for these insects is June through October and depending on the amount of rain during May, will reflect a number of insects during peak season. So if the wind is mild this will help keep the insects down, when its dry and hot over a good period of time these insects will not be as numerous! But if it is damp and still they can be out in large swarms! Be Ready, come with the right clothing and shoes, if you are an insect magnet you should come with the repellent that works for you, we offer Botanical or All Natural repellents at the tour site!
#What if the weather forecast is bad?
PRBBT monitors weather conditions daily, safety should always be first! We follow NOAA, Wunderground and Weather.com, if any of the two forecasts the following, 50% or higher threat for rain, winds exceeding 18 knots or potential for thunderstorms we will cancel the tour for that day. One of our representatives will contact you via email, text or phone to advise of cancellation and offer to reschedule if available. If you are unable to reschedule or if the weather does not improve we will refund your booking cost.
#Moon Phases:
Please be advised that the night kayaking tour may be offered as the Bioluminescent Lagoon Kayak Adventure or the Full Moon Kayak Eco Adventure based on the lunar cycle.
